Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDEBORAH (DEBBIE) MCKINNON
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Debbie McKinnon on December 8, 2025.
She is survived by her brothers, Wayne (Maria Estela), Gary, Darren (Patti) and Lauren (Lynne); nieces and nephews, Selene, Cheryl (Wade), Edward, Alex (Serena), Sara (Keegan), Alyssa and Blake; and great-niece and nephews, Liliana, Roderic and Drayce.
Debbie enjoyed her career in the restaurant industry, first in Winnipeg where she eventually opened her own restaurant. Deb then moved to Oakville, Ontario where she worked at Seasons and Corks for 20 plus years. There she met and enjoyed her time with her regular customers.
Debbie was diagnosed with Cancer (Multiple Myeloma) in January of 2019. She fought this battle with highs and lows but it did not stop her spirit.
She was still able to enjoy traveling, going to her favorite and new restaurants, enjoyed spending time with her cherished family and friends... and still competitive in cards and dice games.
A Big Thank you to Dr. Vi Dao and team at Cancer Care for everything. You were amazing. Also a big Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and team who cared for her the last 4 days of her life.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment and Celebration of Life will be held in the spring. A photo biography honouring Debbie’s life is accessible through the 'tributes' link below.

I was saddened to hear that Debbie passed, but so thankful to have enjoyed a lunch visit with her, Gary and an another friend when visiting Winnipeg last Spring. I have fond memories of times spent at Haleys Restaurant for parties and numerous evenings enjoying too much wine in the bar chatting into the night. Ladies Showers, girls weekend at Agassi and so many 1 on 1 visits. As well, stayed connected via mail when we both moved from Winnipeg. Debbie was always a positive, bright light and a joyous individual. I know you will be missed by many my old friend, by me and especially your family and your brother Gary especially. See you again down the road. - Posted by: Patricia (pattie) (Old friend) on: May 04, 2026
